Van den Bosch was formerly CEO of PANTA Systems, a provider of large-scale data warehouse appliances, and executive vice president and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at VERITAS Software. He is very familiar with Evergrid, and has extensive experience in both enterprise software and high performance computing environments," said John Jarve, managing director of Menlo Ventures and member of the Evergrid board of directors. "Our products uniquely address requirements for improved availability, utilization, and automation in the data center, originating from the expanding use of clusters of commoditized servers. There is a huge opportunity ahead for Evergrid, and that requires the high level of expertise that Fred has demonstrated throughout his career." said B.J. Arun, founder and chairman, Evergrid. "Evergrid's technology foundation, created by a strong team under the leadership of CTO and founder Dr. Srinidhi Varadarajan, has enabled the creation of a compelling family of products that address the challenges of managing rapidly growing, scale-out computing environments," said Fred van den Bosch. "The company will soon be adding several exciting products targeting enterprise online workloads to its existing family of products, which will address the needs of batch processing applications." As data centers expand and use increasingly large quantities of commodity servers, managing to high levels of utilization while guaranteeing customer service levels is becoming a major challenge. Evergrid's patented technology allows the creation of products that add application awareness to the management of data center resources and complement existing solutions that focus on the management of physical and virtualized resources. Its products support both large-scale distributed and complex multi-tier application environments. For more information, visit its Web site.
