Best Innovators Of Electronic Design Honored At DesignCon 2006

Honoring innovative contributions to progress in the design engineering industry, the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) announced the DesignVision Award winners at DesignCon 2006, taking place this week in the Santa Clara Convention Center in Silicon Valley. Dr. Barry Sullivan, DesignCon 2006 Program Director, commented on the DesignVision Awards, "The DesignVision Awards recognize innovative products and services that support the work of electronic design engineers, the core audience at DesignCon. The IEC is pleased to provide this recognition to companies whose products exemplify our standard of service to the industry." This year, with the largest number of exhibitors at DesignCon in its history, the IEC's DesignVision Awards bring together top vendors in the industry and their design tools and products. Recognizing the best innovators of the year, judges selected from the DesignCon Technical Program Committee, chose pioneering developments judged to be the most unique and beneficial to the design engineering industry. With countless submissions and only a single winner in each of the nine categories, the highly-coveted awards gave tribute to those catalyzing positive change in technology, business, and academia, completely in line with the IEC's mission. In each of the nine categories, the 2006 award winners include the following products and companies, respectively: ASIC & IC Design Tools Cadence X Architecture Design Solution – Cadence Design Systems Design Verification Tools Pioneer-NTB SystemVerilog Testbench Automation Tool - Synopsys Interconnect Technologies and Components Crossbow - Amphenol TCS PCB Design Tools CircuitSpace - DesignAdvance Systems Semiconductors and ICs Actel Fusion Programmable System Chip - Actel Semiconductors and ICs (IP) 1T-SRAM CLASSIC Memory Macros Family – MoSys Structured/Platform ASIC, FPGA, and PLD Design Tools HardCopy II Structured ASIC Design Flow – Altera System-Level Design Tools WEBENCH Active Filter Designer - National Semiconductor Test and Measurement Equipment BERTSCOPE CR Clock Recovery – Synthesys Research Broadening the scope to address business as well as technical issues of the industry, DesignCon 2006 will host 125 exhibiting companies, more than 100 sessions and tutorials, and more than 200 industry leaders to speak.
