Data Translation Announces MATLAB Support

Data Translation announces MATLAB support for the new DT9836 series of simultaneous analog input multifunction data acquisition modules for USB 2.0. Measurement data from Data Translation hardware can now be directly acquired and analyzed within MATLAB using the new DAQ Adaptor for MATLAB software interface. The extensive analysis and visualization capabilities of MATLAB are an ideal complement to the high performance features of the DT9836 series. The state of the art DT9836 Series offers the user simultaneous data capture on up to 12 parallel A/D input channels at a sampling rate of 225 kS/s per channel. DAQ Adaptor for MATLAB is a software interface that allows users of the popular MATLAB environment direct access to analog and digital I/O data. DAQ Adaptor for MATLAB when used with MATLAB and MATLAB's Data Acquisition Toolbox provides a single environment for data acquisition and analysis. "Our customers require high performance yet easy to use USB data acquisition solutions," comments Tim Ludy, Product Marketing Manager at Data Translation. "MATLAB, with over 1,000,000 users, is a standard environment for developing applications containing both data acquisition and analysis. The DAQ Adaptor for MATLAB offers our customers a powerful, yet simple-to-use interface between Data Translation hardware and MATLAB." "Data Translation has made a significant investment integrating these leading-edge data acquisition modules into MATLAB's Data Acquisition Toolbox," comments Steven Kolak, Test and Measurement Product Manager at The MathWorks. "This added support will enable applications to be developed in the MATLAB environment that are both high performance and low cost." Pricing and Availability The DAQ Adaptor for MATLAB supports the complete range of Data Translation USB and PCI boards and is available immediately as a free download from: its Web site. MATLAB and the Data Acquisition Toolbox are available separately from The MathWorks. The DT9836 Series modules are available in two packaging configurations: a BNC connection box and an OEM embedded version with prices starting at $1,360. This series is available immediately.
