Bernd Lutz Joins Massively Parallel Technologies

Massively Parallel Technologies (MPT), a provider of on-demand high-performance computing, today announced the addition of new vice president, Bernd Lutz. "Bernd is a brilliant entrepreneur and a proven leader," said CEO and founder Scott Smith. "He is very enthusiastic about MPT's innovative technology and brings the management expertise and business acumen needed to guide MPT through its next phase of growth." Lutz has over twenty years experience in enterprise software development, C-level management consulting, capital formation and mergers and acquisitions. He has held senior management positions with IBM, Sykes Enterprises, and Intrado, and was co-founder and chief executive officer of Proflowers.com, one of the largest online flower retailers. Prior to joining MPT, Lutz was an investment banker with Bathgate Capital, a boutique investment bank with a focus on middle-market technology companies. As co-founder of four successful Internet start-ups, he has raised millions of dollars in early-stage financing. Besides being a focused entrepreneurial thinker and proven implementer, Lutz is an active Angel investor in technology ventures and a limited partner in a venture capital fund. Lutz holds a doctorate in computer sciences, a master of science degree in engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and a masters of business administration from the University of Colorado.
