The Avocent Cstation sits at the end-user location with standard monitor and keyboard maintaining the one-to-one relationship of one user connecting to one assigned HyperBlade server. The benefits of this solution include less heat on the trading floor, (MAC's) easy moves, adds and changes, centralized PCs - backracking enabled architecture reducing trader downtime, desktop support and increasing asset security. The infrastructure, Appro HyperBlade backracking solution, resides in the data center, where it's more secure and can be easily maintained. The Avocent Cstation solution consists of C-Link card that plugs into a PCI slot within a PC blade and extends the internal PCI bus to a desktop Cstation appliance located at the end-user’s workstation. The Appro HyperBlade server is ideal for enabling this backracking solution. It provides high-density and offers centralized IT control of all computer users. Its key features include outstanding performance, reliability and superior mechanical and thermal design. It supports 80-hyperBlades in a custom rack cabinet or 50 blades in a standard rack cabinet, Intel or AMD processors delivering 32-bit and 64-bit computing, Microsoft Windows XP, 2000 professional for PCs as well as Windows Server 2003.
