BIOSoftware Systems, Inc. and The BioAnalytics Group LLC Announce Partnership

BIOSoftware Systems, Inc. ("BSS") and The BioAnalytics Group, LLC ("TBAG") announced today a strategic partnership which will allow them to jointly offer pathway modeling solutions. BSS's BioPathway Explorer, a software product used to study biological pathways and networks, will be used to develop and deliver TBAG's Model-Based Assays(TM), which help researchers interpret laboratory data. Model-Based Assays automate a systematic approach to solving difficult biological data analysis problems. Model-based assays help resolve difficult challenges, such as apparently contradictory experimental results and quantification of difficult-to-measure biochemical activities, and provide additional value from cell-based assays. "BioPathway Explorer is a next-generation pathway analysis tool; it is a great foundation upon which we can build and deliver Model-Based Assays. We are pleased to make it available to our customers," said Scott Lett, President of TBAG. BioPathway Explorer is a software tool that allows biologists to organize their knowledge in the form of a pathway. Researchers using this tool have the ability to easily create and edit biological pathways using a polished, intuitive user interface. Biological context is easily added to the elements that make up pathways using free text and structured annotation schemes. BioPathway Explorer allows the researcher to focus on the science aspects of their solution instead of tedious side issues such as updating model equations. "The delivery of Model-Based Assays using BioPathway Explorer represents the essential combination of predictive pathway models with a comprehensive tool for presenting and studying them," according to Bob Thorn, President of BSS.
