John D’ambrosia Discusses 100 Gigabit Ethernet Network Development at the Internet2 Member Meeting

Speaking at a panel discussion today at Internet2, John D’Ambrosia of Force10 Networks discussed industry progress regarding the development of 100 Gigabit Ethernet. Speaking on a panel titled, “Industry Update on 100 Gbps Optical Networking,” D’Ambrosia discussed various efforts underway to support the development and deployment of 100 Gigabit Ethernet and how these efforts would carry forward into future development efforts, including the development of the next rate of Ethernet. The panel included representatives from ADVA, Ciena, Cisco, Infinera and Nortel.

John D’Ambrosia is part of the office of the CTO at Force10 Networks, whose industry-leading Ethernet switch/router solutions are deployed by leading enterprise data centers, global wireless and wireline service providers, top supercomputing environments and iconic Internet brands. D’Ambrosia is also the chair of the IEEE P802.3ba 40G/s and 100Gbps Ethernet Task Force.
