Management Team Bolstered with VP of Sales for Platform ISF and CTO for HPC Business Unit

Platform Computing announced today the appointments of Jeffrey Galin as vice president of sales for Platform ISF, the company's private cloud management software, and Phil Morris as chief technology officer for the company's high performance computing (HPC) business unit.

"Platform ISF is receiving strong and positive feedback from the market since we launched the beta in June.  Our priority is increasingly on adoption and sales -- thus the timely addition of Jeffrey's leadership," said Songnian Zhou, CEO, Platform Computing.  "Jeffrey's successful track record with management software startups will be invaluable as Platform continues to establish its position in the cloud computing space."

Mr. Galin, based in Boston, will join Platform from Certeon, where as vice president of worldwide sales, he drove a rapid growth of revenue over the past two years. Prior to Certeon, he was vice president of sales at Mazu Networks, Inc., where he built up $20 million in annual sales revenue and delivered the company's first 100 customers across the world. He also served as senior vice president of worldwide sales at ViryaNet Software, Inc., where he founded the sales organization and was responsible for $27 million annual revenue on sales of all ViryaNet products and services. Mr. Galin has also held sales leadership positions at Precise Software, Veritas, Mercury Interactive and Compuware.

Mr. Morris, based in the company's U.S. headquarters in San Jose, will be responsible for providing overall technology leadership for  Platform's HPC business, with a special focus on cloud computing and other advanced solutions. He will also serve as a technology evangelist for Platform and will work with the company's customers to help drive Platform's strategy and product requirements. He joins Platform after 17 years with Sun Microsystems. Most recently, Mr. Morris was technical director and chief technologist for Sun's U.S. Data Center Efficiency practice, where he was responsible for directing a team of technical specialists and solution architects to offer business solutions and value propositions to customers. Mr. Morris also led six virtual teams totaling over 80 people to create service methodologies, drive sales and provide implementation and delivery. Previously, he was technical director and chief architect for the Global Storage practice, where he helped Sun move from $100 million to $500 million in annual revenue, and also served as global manager for the Sun/SAP Competency Centers.
