BLADE will present at Supercomputing in Austin

BLADE Network Technologies, Inc. (BLADE) announced it will show its industry-leading Ethernet products at Supercomputing '08 on November 15-21, in Austin, Texas. Dan Tuchler, BLADE's Vice President of Strategy and Product Management, will present "10G Ethernet -- Ready for Major Breakthrough in 2009 for HPC Environments" on Wednesday, November 19 at 10:30 AM, Room 12A/12B. The talk includes competitive benchmarks results from well-known High Performance Computing (HPC) applications and trends in interconnect technologies within the top compute clusters. Many analysts predict that 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) is ready to take off in HPC environments. 10GbE can meet low-latency and high bandwidth I/O requirements using familiar Ethernet networking leveraging Ethernet training, and management and debugging tools, which are ubiquitous in networking. Using efficient and cost-effective 10GbE to interconnect the blade servers, HPC clusters can take advantage of dense blade-server compute nodes to lower power consumption and reduce floor space. Presenter Bio Dan Tuchler has over 25 years experience in networking. Most recently, he led product management at Mellanox Technologies, a leading supplier of InfiniBand products and an important player in the HPC market. Prior to Mellanox, Dan led product management at Force10 Networks, a leading vendor of large scale, resilient 10GbE switching products. Dan's product experience spans a range of networking technologies, including emerging Ethernet standards, InfiniBand, security, load balancing, content aware networking, and high-availability products. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Boston University.
