Visual Numerics to Support PathScale EKOPath Compiler Suite
PathScale, the developer of innovative software and hardware solutions to accelerate high performance computing, today announced that Visual Numerics has ported its IMSL Fortran Numerical Library to the PathScale EKOPath Compiler Suite. Support of Visual Numerics' Fortran Library will enable scientific and technical institutions using PathScale's award-winning EKOPath Compiler to better perform advanced numerical analysis, leading to an acceleration of breakthroughs in science and engineering. "Providing access to the IMSL Fortran Numerical Library will enable developers to build computational applications that address some of the world's most complex research problems," said Scott Metcalf, president & CEO of PathScale. "More and more, companies and research organizations are choosing EKOPath because of its proven performance and solid reputation for quality on x86-based systems. With the support of Visual Numerics, aerospace, manufacturing, automotive, and government concerns can extend the capabilities and reach of EKOPath compilers to address new computationally intensive challenges." The EKOPath Compiler Suite from PathScale offers the industry's highest-performance C, C++, and Fortran 9X compilers for 64-bit Linux-based computer systems. It has been optimized for both the AMD64 and Intel EM64T architectures and has the world's most sophisticated optimization infrastructure. "Together, PathScale and Visual Numerics will provide leading scientific and technical organizations the ability to push the limits of research and engineering," said Phil Fraher, president and CEO of Visual Numerics. "By supporting the EKOPath high performance compiler, we are providing the developer community with a strong foundation for creating advanced computational applications on 64-bit cluster computing systems."
