Talk to Address Cyberinfrastructure for Social Sciences
The next event in the NCSA Director's Seminar Series will be a talk on "Cyberinfrastructure for Humanities and Social Science" given by John Unsworth, dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Unsworth will speak from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 in Room 1122 of the NCSA Building, 1205 W. Clark Street. Unsworth chairs a national commission on cyberinfrastructure for the humanities and social sciences organized by the American Council of Learned Societies and funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. In this talk, Unsworth will discuss the recommendations of the report, the timetable for a release of the final version, and its implications for NCSA and the computer science and engineering community.
