NVIDIA Quadro Delivers Performance
NVIDIA Corporation today announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European computer company, has selected the NVIDIA nForce Professional 2200 and 2050 media and communications processors (MCPs) and NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics for the Celsius V830 workstation. As the leading provider of workstation graphics and AMD processor-based core-logic technology, NVIDIA solutions were the choice when Fujitsu Siemens Computers engineered this powerful 64-bit AMD Opteron workstation platform. "The Fujitsu Siemens Computers Celsius v830 workstation has been designed to deliver the very best performance for the workstation industry’s most demanding applications," said Andreas Thimmel, Vice President Business Clients, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "As NVIDIA is a leading provider of HyperTransport-based chipsets for the server and workstation market they understand our need for reliability, stability, and service/support, and provide products that fit those needs perfectly." The NVIDIA nForce Professional 2200 and 2050 MCPs are part of the NVIDIA family of professional single-chip MCPs. Designed for enterprise class customers who require stable, reliable, high-performance computing, NVIDIA nForce Professional MCPs offer customers a scalable architecture for AMD Opteron multiprocessor servers and workstations. This includes a proven fifth-generation HyperTransport design, and a flexible PCI Express bus interface. "Workstation users demand products that provide enhanced value for applications such as MCAD, DCC, and film and video applications without compromising on providing enterprise class availability," said Manoj Gujral, general manager of the server and workstation MCP group at NVIDIA. "The strong working relationship between Fujitsu Siemens Computers and NVIDIA has addressed these needs and the inclusion of the NVIDIA nForce Professional 2200 and 2050 MCPs in the Celsius V830 creates an innovative workstation platform that provides the performance and reliability enterprise customers demand." The key features of the NVIDIA nForce Professional 2200 and 2050 MCPs include: * A feature-rich architecture integrating support for PCI Express, Gigabit Ethernet, SATA 3Gb/s, USB 2.0, and remote management capabilities. * Scalable design enabling the creation of AMD Opteron-based systems from entry 1P workstations to high-end 8P+ servers using the same architecture. * Support for patented NVIDIA SLI™ technology: Supports the simultaneous use of two full x16 PCI Express workstation graphics cards based on NVIDIA Quadro technology. * ISV certifications: the long-standing relationship that NVIDIA has with industry-leading ISVs increases the likelihood that professional applications are tested and certified on NVIDIA solutions. * The NVIDIA Unified Driver Architecture (UDA) lowers total cost of ownership by providing a stable software image across multiple generations of hardware. The new Fujitsu Siemens Computers CELSIUS V830 is available now in single and dual-core configurations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
