GARDENA Extends Use of MSC.Software SimDesigner

MSC.Software today announced that GARDENA, Germany, the leading European manufacturer of gardening tools and equipment has increased their investment in the CATIA V5-integrated products of SimDesigner. Used by engineers in the department of precision engineering, SimDesigner will be used for the simulation of stresses on plastic parts, gears and for parts subject to centrifugal forces. "In selecting SimDesigner for CATIA V5, GARDENA are typical of the increasing number of specialist manufacturers looking to enhance their design to manufacture process by empowering their in-house designers with a fully CAD-embedded simulation capability," said Amir Mobayen, MSC.Software, Corporate Senior VP, EMEA. "SimDesigner Nonlinear is the perfect complement to the already implemented Catia-FEModule GPS," says Dipl. Ing. Peter Rudolf, Precision Engineering division at GARDENA. "Also, it is important for us that MSC.Software is a very well known provider of many VPD tools, especially in the FEA and multi-body analysis area and for CATIA V5 integrated products. By using SimDesigner, we expect to be able to cut down on external calculations, and to do more in-house calculations of cases, which could not have been simulated before. SimDesigner offers an ideal combination of an easy to learn CAD integrated CAE tool and high-end simulation, at a reasonable price. We will now be able to make design decisions earlier in the design process, which will help us to reduce development time and cost."
