CSC Announces $427 Million in Previously Unannounced Federal Contracts
Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that since Oct. 1, 2004, its Federal Sector business unit has signed 65 previously unannounced contracts and subcontracts valued at approximately $427 million during the third quarter of CSC's fiscal year. The quarter ended on Dec. 31, 2004. "Our third quarter Federal Sector contract wins demonstrate the continued positive performance of this key business unit," said CSC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Van B. Honeycutt. "CSC's record of experience and success in this marketplace is built upon the company's ability to deliver effective and innovative results for federal customers." The agreements cover time periods ranging from one month to eleven years. Civil agencies accounted for 28 awards with a total value of approximately $185 million. Department of Defense (DoD) agencies accounted for 37 awards with a total value of more than $242 million. Significant areas of award activity for CSC were with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Third quarter contract highlights include the DOJ Information Technology Support Services contract, under which the company will continue to provide a spectrum of services including computer security, software development and case management in support of the DOJ and other agencies. Other services performed by CSC under these contracts will include a wide range of information technology (IT) services, including analysis, systems integration and modernization, consulting, engineering, outsourcing, training, maintenance and logistics support. All expressed contract award terms and values represent the amounts that CSC expects to receive from the agreements if all options are exercised.
