HPTI Awarded CMM/I Level 2 Certification

High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTi) was assessed at Level 2 on the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI-SW) v1.1. This accomplishment reflects HPTi's ability to meet stringent standards of quality and maturity in delivering mission critical software engineering solutions to its clients. The SEI CMM/I model defines explicit criteria and goals for project management processes. Implemented correctly these criteria and goals provide assurance that projects are properly scoped, managed, and implemented, increasing the likelihood that projects will achieve the goals intended by their sponsors within agreed schedules and budgets. "This certification provides independent validation of HPTi's management processes, which meet the most widely respected standards for software and system integration projects," said Tim Keenan, HPTi President and Managing Partner. "It also provides a new baseline upon which HPTi will continuously improve our processes and the quality of the solutions that we deliver." This assessment was determined by an independent appraisal, conducted using the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) v1.1 and Software Capability Evaluation (SCE) v3.0 methods. The SEI originally developed this model as a tool to identify areas where an organization could benefit by improving their software process. The model has evolved since its inception in the late 1980's, and took on a role as a benchmark for software and systems professionals. "HPTi adopted CMM/I as the basis for our systems process improvement efforts because it provides a framework to enhance product quality, client satisfaction, and employee growth and productivity. It achieves this through consistency, predictability and continuous improvement of our systems management processes," said Andy Cohen, Solutions Group Lead and Civilian Agencies Group Lead. "Our clients at IRS appreciate the timely, high quality, and comprehensive deliverables and related artifacts that we produce by following our CMMI compliant processes," said Ed Wehner, HPTi Technical Director and IRS Program Manager The certification was the result of an 18-month effort by HPTI team members. This assessment demonstrates HPTi's continuing commitment to systems and software process improvement. Having achieved this certification, HPTi has continued its commitment to the CMMI systems maturity process by initiating efforts toward CMMI Level 3.
