Gary Smaby Joins CorVu Board of Directors

MINNEAPOLIS -- CorVu Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise performance management solutions, today announced Gary Smaby has been elected to the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Smaby's prominent and varied career as technology entrepreneur, securities analyst, corporate strategist and venture capitalist, makes him a unique and strategic addition to the Board. Following a decade as a successful entrepreneur, Smaby migrated to Wall Street in 1982. There he rose to the position of managing director and senior technology analyst at the investment banking firms of Piper Jaffray and Needham & Co. During his Wall Street career, Smaby analyzed a broad array of emerging companies involved in technologies ranging from enterprise software and supercomputers to networking and decision support systems. In 1989, he formed Smaby Group, Inc., to provide strategic advisory services to senior executives at corporations such as AT&T, HP, IBM, Unisys, Intel, Oracle, Sun, and Compaq. Mr. Smaby is also co-founder and managing partner of Quatris Fund, a seed stage venture fund formed in 2000 with St. Paul Venture Capital. Smaby serves on the Boards of several corporations and is the 2003 president of the Minnesota Venture Capital Association. Additionally, he serves on the External Advisory Board of the Deep Computing Institute at IBM TJ Watson Research Laboratory and the Board of Trustees at the Science Museum of Minnesota. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management and is a graduate of St. Olaf College.
