Vision Suite and Midas Software Establish IBM ClusterProven Certification

IRVINE, CA -- Vision Solutions, a leader in information availability management, is proud to announce that it was selected as the partner of choice by Misys International Banking Systems (Misys) to help attain ClusterProven(TM) status from IBM for Misys' world-renowned banking software Midas. Vision Solutions and Misys tested their respective software solutions, Vision Suite(TM) and Midas, to meet the rigorous standards of IBM's ClusterProven initiative. As a result, both Misys and Vision Solutions enjoy further validation that their solutions offer superior system availability and application resiliency, guaranteeing customers access to mission-critical data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Vision Solutions used its clustering tools and specialized ClusterAdvantage consultants to cluster-enable Midas. Then technical teams from both companies worked together to conduct aggressive testing in order to receive the ClusterProven certification. ClusterProven is an IBM initiative offered to independent software vendors (ISVs) where cluster technology and application software from its key developer partners are tested together to provide the ultimate in total system availability and application resiliency. "High availability is particularly important to customers in the banking industry, where it is vital to maintain continuous access to information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," said Roger Hedges, product marketing manager of Midas for Misys. "We're pleased to have worked with Vision Solutions to gain the ClusterProven stamp of approval from IBM that lets our customers know they can have confidence in the continuous availability of the Midas solution." Vision Solutions has been working with IBM in its labs in Rochester, Minn., to test its ClusterProven capabilities with partners over the course of 2001. Its efforts, along with IBM, highlight the importance of clustering technology to the future of information availability management. "Clustering on the IBM eServer iSeries is a vitally important area of information availability and we are pleased to be the first in our industry to support our partner, Misys, by working with them to attain ClusterProven status for Midas," said Ron Peeters, senior director of business development for Vision Solutions. "IBM's ClusterProven initiative is very important for the industry and our customers and we are pleased to support it through our efforts to ClusterProve our partners' applications and offer the Vision Suite(TM) ClusterAdvantage(TM) Program to our customers." On November 19th, Vision Solutions launched a unique new offering called Vision Suite ClusterAdvantage Program. The ClusterAdvantage Program is a services-rich offering that gives customers the most powerful and effective software, consulting services and educational programs needed to make their enterprises continuously available. By taking advantage of the ClusterAdvantage Program, customers can make the most of their hardware and software investment as it provides continuous - near 100 percent - application and information resiliency. In addition, customers can rest assured knowing they are relying on a solution that has IBM's seal of approval as part of its ClusterProven initiative. The ClusterAdvantage Program is based on Vision Suite and is offered to existing customers in order to take them from high availability to continuous availability. New customers have the opportunity to take advantage of this program as part of a "best practices" approach to new systems installation and implementation for Vision Solutions.
