SGI Announces 2002 SGI Global Developer Conference

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- SGI (NYSE: SGI), a leading provider of high-performance computing, complex data management and visualization products, solutions and services, today announced that the annual SGI Global Developer Conference will take place February 25-27, 2002 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, Calif. The conference theme is ``Innovate with IRIX'' and the focus will be on optimization, differentiation and visualization. The three-track agenda that will include technical presentations, discussions and tips and tricks is being compiled by a core team of SGI engineers. Conference information and registration are available online at www.sgi.com/developers The 2002 SGI Global Developer Conference, organized by SGI's Global Alliances team, will host a Partner Pavilion, a Product Showcase and many more exciting events. SGI will ask conference attendees to vote on which applications is the best. The hobbyist winner will receive a new Silicon Graphics® visual workstation, which offers greatly increased levels of compute power and graphics performance. 2002 SGI Global Developer Conference Overview The conference will feature three technical tracks: optimization, differentiation, and visualization. -- The optimization track will present information to help attendees improve application performance using SGI(TM) compilers and tools -- The differentiation track is designed to enable attendees to create innovative and differentiated applications for IRIX systems -- The visualization track will focus on how to make an application look great and many tips and tricks for applications that rely heavily on graphics During a special Product Showcase event, conference attendees will be transported to the SGI campus for an evening at SGI headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.
