Cambridge, MA – MathSoft Engineering & Education, Inc., a leading provider of interactive math, science, engineering and educational software products and content, today announced that Allen Razdow, an original founder of MathSoft, Inc., has joined its board of directors. MathSoft Engineering & Education, Inc., is a privately held company founded by the successful management-led buyout of the original Cambridge-based MathSoft business. Mr. Razdow was the technical founder of MathSoft and inventor of
its patented technology for interactive mathematics. This core
technology represents the foundation of Mathcad(R), the industry
standard solution for applying mathematics for technical professionals

Blohm. He also held the positions of CEO and CTO at MathSoft before
leaving to become CEO of Torrent, a company that pioneered the
application of parallel computing to large commercial data processing
problems. Razdow is currently co-founder, chairman and CTO of Acallto,
Inc., which provides technology that lets Web sites serve telephone
contact with people in the enterprise. Razdow holds an undergraduate
degree in Plasma Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. "MathSoft is very pleased that Allen has agreed to join our
board," said Chris Randles, president and CEO of MathSoft. "He brings
a wealth of experience as an inventor, entrepreneur and technology
leader. Allen's intimate knowledge of MathSoft's core technology, his
affinity for its customer base and his enduring passion for its
business will be a huge benefit to the company." "I am delighted to return to MathSoft as it starts its new life as
a private company," said Mr. Razdow. "I share MathSoft's commitment to
offering technology that will change the face of math, science and
engineering in business and education. This is an exciting time for
MathSoft and I'm pleased to be able to contribute to its renewed
success." The addition of Mr. Razdow to the board of MathSoft Engineering &
Education, Inc., brings the number of directors to six. Other board
members are Chris Randles, chairman and CEO; Terry Rochford, vice
president of development; John Martinson, managing partner, Edison
