Yamamura Named President of Ziosoft Japan

Ziosoft has named Masao Yamamura president of Ziosoft Japan. Yamamura will also continue in his previous role as chief development officer (CDO) worldwide for the company.

"Japan has historically been one of the largest medical imaging markets in the world and a critical market for Ziosoft," said Kazu Matsumoto, founder and CEO of Ziosoft. "Masao has been a key to our success in Japan, helping Ziosoft hold in excess of 60 per cent market share for hospitals with 500 beds and above. We are pleased to have him accept the additional responsibilities of president for Japan and look forward to the company's ongoing success."

Yamamura joined Ziosoft in 2007 bringing over 25 years of research and development experience on networked digital imaging systems. He has a demonstrated track record of leading products from planning to development to commercialization. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President and GM at Electronics for Imaging (EFI). Prior to joining EFI, he developed workstations and printing systems for Fuji Xerox and Xerox Corporation. Yamamura holds a BS and MS in Information System Engineering from Hiroshima University, Japan.

"The ability to bring my digital imaging network experience to the development of highly accurate functional visualization for the support of improved patient care is extremely gratifying," said Yamamura. "The application of Ziosoft's supercomputing technology to chaotic information produced in the human body brings very powerful solutions to 3D, 4D and, soon to be, 5D functional analytics. I am pleased to help lead our efforts in building upon this revolutionary platform which will continue to provide many exciting new developments for years to come."

Ziosoft's supercomputing technology is based on dynamic, instantaneous analysis of chaotic information in weather which has extremely similar data characteristics to the human body. Over the years, this technology evolved from a large room of host computer hardware to a centralized, CPU-based processing server allowing multiple concurrent users per server throughout the enterprise system. This has resulted in several significant advantages including non-compressed 3D and 4D images producing the highest integrity and accurate image quality, optimized user efficiency and maximum cost effectiveness for an extensive range of clinical applications. It also enables indications-driven workflow and supports reimbursement as well as HIPAA requirements.

Ziosoft's supercomputing software architecture is economical and scalable, eliminating the need for costly, multiple proprietary or specialized GPU rendering boards. It integrates seamlessly with standard, off-the-shelf hardware and helps expand the life of existing expensive modalities such as CT and MR.
