ScaleMP Announces Support for Mellanox ConnectX
ScaleMP Customers Realize Significant Performance Increase with the Latest Generation of Mellanox 40Gb/s InfiniBand Adapters: ScaleMP today announced an enhancement of its vSMP Foundation virtualization platform to support the Mellanox ConnectX 40Gb/s (QDR) InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter (HCA). Both vSMP Foundation Embedded, targeting integrated system solution providers, and vSMP Foundation Standalone, a software-only product used to build the industry’s most affordable four-socket solution, are now supporting Mellanox ConnectX adapters.

By using virtualization to create high-end symmetric multiprocessor (SMP) computers from off-the-shelf x86 systems, the ScaleMP solution reduces management costs of clusters, and provides up to 1 TB RAM for large memory application and shared memory system, supporting up to 128 cores. The Mellanox ConnectX 40Gb/s InfiniBand HCAs deliver the highest data throughput and lowest latency of any industry-standard adapter available today, thereby accelerating applications and data transfers in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
