SC08, the international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis, will celebrate 20 years of unleashing the power of HPC this year, following the traditions set by the first SC Conference in 1988. The conference, which opens November 15 in Austin, is the HPC community's premiere opportunity to immerse yourself in the latest developments in supercomputing technology and applications. Here you'll find the latest in high performance computing (HPC), networking, storage and analysis applied to the world's most challenging commercial, scientific and engineering problems. Technical program submissions for tutorials, panels and workshops are due by Monday, April 14. While the deadline for submitting technical paper abstracts was Friday, April 4, full submissions for technical papers and the ACM Gordon Bell Prize are also due by Monday, April 14. The conference technical program submissions site is at: https://submissions.supercomputing.org/. “We received a tremendous number of technical paper abstracts – more than 350 – and we are looking forward to just as many full papers being submitted,” said SC08 Technical Program Chair Adolfy Hoisie of Los Alamos National Laboratory. “For those of you who have been thinking about proposing a tutorial, panel or workshop, now is the time to submit your ideas.” Submissions are still being accepted for: Tutorials The Tutorials program gives attendees one-of-a-kind exposure to developing technology, and provides an opportunity to master the state-of-the-practice in HPC. Consider including “hands-on” exercises and guided-learning demos. Submissions are due Monday, April 14. Panels Spark creative thought and ignite a little controversy with your panel. Panels are the ideal forum to explore diverse points of view, and to get the whole audience involved in the discussion. Submissions are due Monday, April 14. Workshop Proposals SC08 welcomes proposals for independently planned full-, half-, or multi-day workshops that complement the Technical Program, and extend its impact by providing greater depth of focus. Submissions are due Monday, April 14. Posters Posters provide an excellent opportunity for short presentations and informal discussions with conference attendees, and will be showcased throughout the conference. One poster will be honored with a Best Poster Award, and students are eligible to participate in the ACM Student Research Challenge. Submissions are due Thursday, July 31.
