Platform Computing Partners with Red Bull Technology
Platform Computing has entered into a technical partnership with Red Bull Technology Ltd. to provide an integrated High Performance Computing (HPC) environment to design the world's fastest Formula 1 cars. Red Bull Technology will leverage Platform's HPC infrastructure software to significantly accelerate computer-aided design and engineering processes. This will result in better designs faster, and ultimately improve performance on the track for Red Bull Racing Formula 1 cars. Red Bull Technology is the designer and manufacturer of Red Bull Racing's Formula 1 car owned by Austrian beverage company Red Bull. 
Formula 1 racing is one of the fastest, most expensive and technically advanced sports in the world. In a sport where literally a hundredth of a second can mean the difference between winning or losing, HPC is essential to the efficient and cost effective analysis of fluid dynamic engineering simulations. By accelerating the design process and shortening the production time, Red Bull Technology can optimize its manufacturing process. "The Platform LSF environment allows us to increase the number of virtual engineering simulations needed to build the fastest and most aerodynamically efficient car possible," said Nathan Sykes, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Team Leader at Red Bull Technology.
