ISC '08 Seeks Birds of a Feather Sessions & Research Posters

The 2008 International Supercomputing Conference (ISC '08), the premier high performance computing event in Europe, invites the worldwide HPC community to submit abstracts for research posters and Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions for this summer’s conference. The deadline for submitting both BoF and poster session abstracts is April 12 and notification of acceptance will be May 1. Both the Research Poster Session and the BoFs are open to conference attendees and exhibitors. BoF sessions will be held Wednesday afternoon, June 18. Each BoF will last 45 minutes, with sessions held in parallel during each 45-minute interval. BoFs provide an informal discussion forum where participants can discuss new ideas and exchange information on topics of mutual interest. Each BoF session will have a different theme and will be coordinated by one or more individuals with an interest and expertise in the topic area. For complete guidelines and a BoF submission form, go to www.isc08.org/bofs. Questions should be sent to bofs@supercomp.de. Posters will be available for viewing at the Posters Reception and Exhibition Opening Party on Tuesday evening, June 17, and during exhibition hours Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19. A prize will be awarded for best poster. Research posters were added to the ISC conference events in 2006 and showcase innovative research projects and research results in an informal, interactive setting. Posters may focus on technical or scientific issues and may target developers or users. Submissions are welcome from conference participants at universities and public research institutes as well as from corporations in the HPC industry. Contributions may be submitted in English. To submit a poster abstract, go to www.isc08.org/posters. For questions, send email to posters@supercomp.de. The abstracts of accepted posters will be included in the conference proceedings and will subsequently be published on the ISC web site. Now in its 23rd year, ISC offers a strong three-day technical program featuring a wide range of expert speakers as well as exhibits from leading research centers and vendors. ISC '08 will be held in Dresden, one of Germany's "Cities of Science." The city has a long history of technical innovation and is home to a growing number of high technology industries and research institutions.
