QLogic today announced the appointment of Scott Genereux to the position of senior vice president of Worldwide Sales. Genereux has more than 18 years of executive level sales management experience including his most recent position as senior vice president of Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Support for DataDirect Networks. Prior to joining DataDirect, Genereux spent 17 years at Hitachi Data Systems in various sales and marketing roles, most significantly as executive vice president and general manager, Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Support.

"Scott brings significant experience in leading worldwide sales organizations," said H.K. Desai, chief executive officer, QLogic Corp. "We expect his extensive background in OEM, channel and end-user sales in the storage and networking industries will bring leadership to QLogic that will assist us in executing against our future strategies and help QLogic to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace."

Genereux will report directly to Desai in his new role.
