Results submitted on TopCrunch Cement Scali’s Leadership in Simulation and Analysis Application Performance: Scali today announced that Scali MPI Connect has delivered record performance on LS-DYNA, the widely used impact simulation and analysis software from LSTC. In a full range of benchmarks, Scali, partnering with Linux Networx, consistently delivered the fastest results on standard hardware solutions. In a recently submitted Neon_refined_revised TopCrunch benchmark, Scali delivered the fastest results leveraging standard InfiniBand hardware for system sizes of up to 32 cores. For 2 to 16 cores, Scali MPI Connect delivered the fastest absolute performance, exceeding results leveraging more expensive interconnect hardware such as InfiniBand DDR and Qlogic’s InfiniPath. The results show Scali MPI Connect provides up to 21% better performance using InfiniBand SDR as compared to other solutions using InfiniBand DDR on an otherwise equal configured system. TopCrunch tracks the aggregate performance trends of high performance computer systems and engineering software. Instead of using a synthetic benchmark, actual engineering software applications are used with real data and are run on high performance computer systems. The benchmarks were run on a Linux Networx LS-P dual core, dual socket system with Intel Xeon 5160 3.0 GHz processors, each with 4 GB of memory per CPU.
