QLogic 10Gb Backbone Qualified by EMC as E-Lab Tested

Customers Can Now Deploy Scalable, High Performance, Core-to-Edge Fabrics from QLogic: QLogic, the leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs), stackable switches and blade server switches, today announced that EMC Corp. has qualified 10Gb powered QLogic SANbox Fibre Channel switches as EMC E-Lab Tested for use with EMC CLARiiON and EMC Symmetrix DMX networked storage systems. With E-Lab qualification of the QLogic 10Gb backbone between SANbox 9000 Series core switches and SANbox 5000 Series stackable switches, EMC customers can now deploy highly scalable, high performance, core-to-edge storage networks from QLogic. The highly comprehensive E-Lab qualification process tests configurations that replicate real-world environments to help ensure customer satisfaction. “EMC has tested the abilities of the SANbox Fibre Channel Switch portfolio and qualified the 10Gb backbone capability of these products,” said Jesse Parker, vice president and general manager, QLogic Network Solutions Group. “Enterprise customers can choose how and when they scale their storage network solutions without performance or cost tradeoffs. The comprehensive EMC E-Lab testing allows EMC business partners and customers to deploy SANbox products with the knowledge that these products have been fully qualified with EMC storage solutions.” QLogic Core-to-Edge Storage Networks Enterprise customers can reduce the total cost of ownership of deploying datacenter-class storage networks with a core-to-edge network featuring a high performance 10Gb backbone. As proven in today’s telecommunications and Internet industries, the modularity of backbone networks enable enterprise customers to: * Minimize cost-of-entry for new deployments * Minimize maintenance costs over the life of the solution * Scale capacity faster to meet increasing demands * Maintain high performance as the solution grows * React to new technologies faster * Maximize flexibility with best-of-breed open systems products SANbox 9000 Series - Designed to the Core for Open Systems The SANbox 9000 Series is designed to the core for cost-sensitive, business-critical, open system environments that require ultra high density, blazing performance and intelligent switching for their data center core. The SANbox 9000 Series represents a number of industry firsts. A 4U chassis for a smaller footprint and cost-effective scalability, customer replaceable units (CRUs) to eliminate costly service calls, and a comprehensive set of core switch software management tools are included as standard. With these tools, typical installation, configuration and setup can usually be performed in less than 30 minutes. SANbox 5000 Series - The Industry’s First and Only Fibre Channel Stackable Switches Now the benefits of stackable IP switches are available for high performance 4Gb SANs. SANbox 5602 stackable switches deliver the seamless scalability and performance of chassis switches in easy-to-manage, pay-as-you-grow solutions. With sixteen 4Gb ports plus a four-pack of high-speed 10Gb ISL ports, and entry as low as eight ports with four-port software-keyed increments and included graphical user interface (GUI) wizards, each SANbox 5602 stackable switch provides maximum flexibility for configuring, managing and scaling SANs and higher availability with its dual power supply configuration.
