QLogic and Onaro Partner on SAN Assessment Program

Companies Respond to End User Demand for Better Visibility into SANs: QLogic and Onaro today announced the two companies have signed an agreement in which QLogic will license a fully functional trial version of Onaro SANscreen SME Edition, an innovative application that allows SAN administrators to achieve real-time feedback about their SAN infrastructure. The partnership is designed to benefit the growing number of datacenter customers deploying the QLogic 10Gb Fibre Channel backbone architecture, by reducing overall provisioning times, reducing troubleshooting overhead, and improving capacity planning activities. The partnership is also designed to drive new business for QLogic channel partners by significantly increasing their ability to provide value-added services to datacenter customers. “There is a great opportunity in small and medium enterprises for applications that can help the end customer optimize their storage infrastructure around the scalable QLogic architecture,” said Jesse Parker, vice president and general manager, QLogic Network Solutions Group. “Onaro’s SANscreen SME Edition provides a valuable set of tools to take full advantage of this opportunity. Introducing our customers to the benefits of the best-in-class Onaro-supported solution adds a new dimension to the overall solution effectiveness.” Onaro's SANscreen product family is the first and only award winning storage service management (SSM) solution that matches the services delivered by the storage infrastructure with application requirements. The result is dramatically improved discovery, capacity planning, service monitoring, change management, and audit/compliance. The SANscreen SME Edition being used by QLogic enables organizations to gain the operational efficiencies of the core SANscreen Foundation product but tuned to the demanding needs of the small and medium enterprise. “Onaro SANscreen SME Edition software provides a great opportunity to expand our Professional Services offering, drive incremental product sales, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction,” said Jason Forrest, National Practice Director, FusionStorm. “As a leading provider of Fibre Channel SAN solutions, QLogic will be able to greatly improve the end user customer experience with Onaro SANscreen SME Edit,” said Bryan Semple, vice president of marketing, Onaro, Inc. “IT departments can now turn to Onaro’s innovative storage service management solutions and support to align application requirements with storage services.”
