EDS is joining the CERN openlab as contributor. The purpose of the joint project between CERN and EDS is to carry out research and development in the field of monitoring, management and operation of Grid services. The project will initially focus on the monitoring aspects with the aim of contributing to the development and enhancement of tools and systems to monitor Grid Services. This phase will last twelve months and may be followed by other phases. The EDS and CERN contact persons for the project will be respectively Dr. Rolf Kubli and Dr. Ian Bird. At CERN, in addition to the openlab Unit, the project will involve the Grid Deployment (GD)group, theFabric Infrastructure and Operations (FIO) group and the Physics Services Support (PSS) group .
