Oracle Named SPSS Technology Partner of the Year

Award Recognizes Successful Integration Between Oracle Data Mining and SPSS Clementine: Oracle today announced that it was named "Technology Partner of the Year" by SPSS, a leading worldwide provider of predictive analytics software, at the third annual SPSS Directions User Conference in Chicago. Oracle received this honor for its joint work with SPSS in building integration between Oracle Data Mining and SPSS's enterprise data mining software solution, SPSS Clementine. The enhanced integration enables analysts to increase productivity and return on investment by using the award-winning SPSS Clementine interface to build, browse and score models in Oracle Database 10g using techniques available in Oracle Data Mining, an option to Oracle Database 10g. Specifically, Oracle Data Mining algorithms, including Naïve Bayes, Adaptive Bayes Network and Support Vector Machines, appear as "nodes" in the Clementine interface. These techniques can then be used just like the other techniques that are native within Clementine. "We are excited to receive this honor for our work with SPSS Clementine," said Ray Roccaforte, vice president of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Platform, Oracle. "This award demonstrates how the high performance capabilities of Oracle Data Mining can integrate with third-party software providers to create robust solutions with Oracle Database 10g." "The complementary nature of SPSS Predictive Solutions and Oracles Data Mining (ODM) has allowed us to implement large scale and performance optimized customer solutions over the past year," said John Shap, senior vice president of World Wide Sales, SPSS, Inc.
