NCSA Position Notice National Center for Supercomputing Applications University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Software Developer Overview: The National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has one Software Developer position available. This position will assist with the design, build, integration and maintenance of NCSA's state of the art software tools. It includes responsibility for programming and code documentation of the tools developed for networked personal computers on one or more platforms, including X Window System, Microsoft Windows and Macintosh. A wide variety of hardware and programming languages may be included. Qualifications: Master's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field required. Alternate degree fields may be considered depending on the nature and depth of the experience as it related to current NCSA technologies. Four years related work experience is required. Must have working knowledge of object oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, HTML, SQL. Training with workstations and system programming on a variety of platforms including Unix, Macintosh and Microsoft Windows. Trained in efficient programming skills and development methodology. Experience with a variety of applications and technical software packages including vast knowledge of wireless protocol and IP networking. This is an academic professional position at NCSA and is a 12-month, 100%-time appointment with regular University benefits.
