Hitachi Selects 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter From Neterion and HHT

New Solution Provides High-Performance, High-Availability and Reliability to BladeSymphony Server Blade Customers: Neterion and its exclusive partner in Japan, Hitachi High-Technologies (HHT), the leading Japanese distributor of technology-based products, announced that they will supply the Hitachi BladeSymphony Blade Server with a new low profile 10 GbE adapter card developed by Neterion. The Hitachi PCI-X 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is designed for space-constrained data center environments. It is compatible with both PCI-X 1.0 and 2.0 (DDR) bus interfaces for maximum throughput, and includes Neterion's Hyperframe exclusive suite of features, enabling the implementation of shared I/O in the datacenter. The adapter will be included in Hitachi's BladeSymphony BS1000 server blade platform that reduces TCO and offers investment protection with its ability to scale up and scale out, to match blade power to application performance and variable cost requirements. In addition, it offers a full suite of centralized management software. The BladeSymphony BS1000's flexible, modular design offers 8-way scalability, with up to 16 PCI-X and PCI-e slots and features both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems. "High-speed Ethernet adapters are an indispensable component to build reliable, high performance systems such as Hitachi's enterprise-class blade server platform -- BladeSymphony," stated Mr. Akio Yamamoto, General Manager of Server Development, Enterprise Server Division, Hitachi, Ltd. "This is why Hitachi will adopt Neterion's 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter for the BladeSymphony.
