Entries due January 31st: The search for the Ultimate Solution: The Itanium Solutions Alliance is hosting the Itanium Solutions Alliance Innovation Contest to showcase deployments of Itanium 2-based applications. If you are a user or developer of an innovative Itanium-based solution, this is the opportunity to have your solution judged by a panel in one of three categories. One winner in each category will receive a $50,000 cash prize or charitable donation. Humanitarian Impact Innovation The Humanitarian Impact category awards innovative use of applications running on Itanium® 2-based systems where these systems demonstrate a profound impact on humanity through research, social improvements or other humanitarian efforts. Examples include weather prediction, storm monitoring, tsunami model forecasting, and genetic and medical research. Enterprise Business Applications The Enterprise Business category awards the innovative use of applications utilizing the benefits of Intel Itanium 2 architecture to produce either hard business results (such as Cost savings and ROI) or soft business impact (including customer satisfaction and new product development). Entrepreneurial Innovations The Entrepreneurial Innovation award is open to all entities excluding pubic companies with revenues exceeding $25 million in the last reporting period. The award will recognize enhanced business operations using applications that take full advantage of the Intel Itanium 2 architecture and will reward achievements in areas such as IT consolidation, increased ROI, increased customer satisfaction and new product development.
