NetXen Strengthens Management Team
David Barney Joins NetXen as Vice President of Software Engineering; Sanjeev Jorapur Named Vice President of Technology: NetXen, Inc., a leading provider of breakthrough 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) technology and products, today announced the appointment of David Barney as vice president of software engineering and Sanjeev Jorapur as vice president of technology. The addition of these industry veterans to the NetXen management team strengthens the company's technical leadership and focus on driving product and technology innovation in the 10GbE market. Mr. Barney is a 20-year veteran of the computer systems industry, with extensive experience in the server, workstation and storage market segments. Prior to joining NetXen, he was senior director of engineering at Network Appliance, where he was responsible for building the teams and developing the process and infrastructure necessary for engineering to scale and meet the expectations of enterprise customers. Before that, he held senior management and technical leadership positions at Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics and NCR. Mr. Barney holds a bachelor's degree in management science from the University of California, San Diego. Mr. Jorapur has 20 years of experience in enterprise and network computing. He joined NetXen in 2003 as director of software, leading the architectural and technological efforts behind NetXen's products. Prior to NetXen, he co-founded CoWave Networks, which pioneered the wireless mesh architecture. At CoWave, he was responsible for the architecture and software development of its initial products. He also has held senior technical positions at HP, where he was one of the key architects of a distributed, multi-node system. Mr. Jorapur holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in computer science from IIT, Mumbai.
