PANDUIT End-to-End 10-Gigabit Fiber Solution Powers LITE Complex

PANDUIT, a leading, world-class developer and provider of innovative network infrastructure systems delivers an end-to-end 10-Gigabit fiber optic solution to the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE), a state-of-the-art facility in Lafayette, La. PANDUIT certified systems integrator, Global Data Systems, designed and deployed a high performance fiber optic cabling system and connectivity infrastructure that interconnects LITE’s entire research complex into a single network. The network enables clients and their colleagues to connect to LITE’s comprehensive, high performance computing installations, powered by one of the world’s fastest graphic supercomputers. “LITE is one of the most advanced research facilities in the world,” says Chris Vincent, Senior Vice President, Global Data Systems. “To truly realize the capabilities of this state-of-the-art research center, LITE required a cabling solution that would enable us to stay ahead of, and quickly adapt to, technology changes as they occur.” The scalable, reliable PANDUIT 10-Gigabit solution allows both high-volume and high-speed transmissions, substantially increasing computing power and amount of real-time data researchers can access and manipulate. This level of network performance fosters a highly collaborative environment among industry, government, and university sectors. “PANDUIT is honored to be part of the technology supporting this extraordinary research facility,” says Ron Partridge, Vice President Global Sales and Marketing, PANDUIT Corp. “Collaboration between PANDUIT, the system integrator and the LITE planning team was critical to the successful deployment of the infrastructure.” In 2003 the State of Louisiana, the Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, came together and formed LITE for the purpose of economic development. The newly constructed research complex opened July 2006.
