Major EU-Funded Semantic Grid Computing Project Adopts InforSense

InforSense Ltd., the leading provider of enterprise real-time analytics, today announced that the company has been selected as a technology partner in the EUR 2M European Union (EU) funded ARGUGRID project. The project is a collaborative effort between eight partners from five countries and is funded by the IST Grid technologies program. The goal of ARGUGRID is to develop the next generation service-oriented computing platform for scientific and business applications. Based on semantic web and agent-based technologies, the project is developing novel techniques for supporting dynamic service selection, composition and optimization by applying advanced logical reasoning over service semantics. The development of such technology is key to the success of large-scale B2B collaborations within a service-oriented computing framework. "InforSense is pleased to receive support from the EU and their recognition of our technical excellence," said Prof. Yike Guo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of InforSense. "InforSense is committed to advanced computation research, and we believe that the combination of semantic web technology, agent computing and logical reasoning is key to evolving our industry-leading workflow technology for service composition in complex business applications." "We believe InforSense workflow technology is the obvious choice to meet the needs and expectations of the EU in service-oriented computing," said Dr. Francesca Toni, ARGUGRID Project Coordinator. "The proven flexibility inherent in InforSense KDE workflow technology, coupled with the ability for users to communicate in a highly secure environment is essential to the success of this project." InforSense KDE, the industry's leading workflow technology, will provide the central mechanism for computing services composition. Enhanced by logical reasoning technology, which will be developed in the project, the InforSense workflow engine will support a new paradigm for autonomic, or self-managing, service composition. In addition, InforSense will integrate new technology developed from the project into its upcoming product releases.
