HPC applications and the experiences of application developers will be of special interest to this mini symposium. The mini symposium will consist of invited as well as contributed talks by leading experts from industry, research laboratories and universities, as well as panels and open discussions. For further details, contact the General Co-Chair at ramamurthy.badrinath@hp.com. Industry/Research Exhibits The exhibition session will consist of exhibits/presentations from vendor companies and R&D laboratories. For further details, contact the Industry Liaison Co-Chairs at vijamann@in.ibm.com or raghuram.tupuri@amd.com. HiPC Student Challenge The HiPC 2006 Student Challenge will consist of student teams from Indian institutions competing to design and develop a scalable and resilient distributed IT infrastructure that enables seamless and opportunistic (and secure) access to and aggregation of key IT assets, including computing, data, information, instruments, communication, models and experts, to respond to and effectively manage national emergencies. Student teams will demonstrate the operation and effectiveness of the proposed IT architecture using a mock crisis scenario involving an avian flu epidemic. Conference Registration The conference registration includes attendance to all HiPC 2006 workshops and technical sessions and a copy of the HiPC proceedings. Separate registration for tutorials is required. Visit the conference website http://www.hipc.org for further details. Information for India Based Participants Registration at reduced rates is made possible for India based faculty, students, and researchers through sponsorships from India based industries and organizations. Travel scholarships for India based students are available on a merit basis to promote HPC research in India. For further details, contact the Scholarships Co-Chairs at scholchair@hipc.org. Sponsorship Opportunities The HiPC conference is annually sponsored by several Indian and international organizations, institutions, and companies. For sponsorship opportunities, contact the General Co-Chair at sponsor@hipc.org. For further details of the meeting, visit http://www.hipc.org.
