JBoss Expands Global Ecosystem

JBoss, the Professional Open Source company, today announced first quarter results for 2006. Highlights include an expansion of the company's global reach through new and deepened partnerships with HP, Ten Art-ni and Patni Computer Systems, as well as through the acquisition of Berlin-based objectone GmbH, now JBoss Deutschland; a move by the UK office into larger, permanent offices on Baker Street in London; new executive appointments to support growing operations and development; and delivery of innovative new JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite (JEMS) products and core technologies. In early Q2, JBoss entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Red Hat, the leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise. The alignment will help accelerate the shift to service-oriented architecture (SOA) by making innovative, powerful solutions available to developers and customers that seek to lower development and deployment costs. The acquisition is expected to close at the end of May. "If the results of this quarter are anything to go by, JBoss expects 2006 to be even bigger and better than last year. JBoss has, on many fronts, clearly put in place the systems to scale our business," said Marc Fleury, chairman and CEO of JBoss, Inc. "We're committed to building a strong JBoss ecosystem that provides the best free and open source software and services possible to our customers and an exemplary platform on which our partners can add richer services and be more competitive." Expands the JBoss Ecosystem In this quarter, JBoss exceeded its revenue goals and saw record customer adoption in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, telecommunications and retail.
