Leveraging its award winning iDiSX 2000 storage network processor architecture, iVivity is announcing the availability of a full 10 Gbps application programmable iSCSI, TCPIP and UDP Host Bus Adapter (HBA) for array, appliance and server OEMs. iVivity will be demonstrating this technology with a continuous data protection appliance at the Storage Networking World Conference in San Diego, California, April 3-6. The 10 Gbps full line rate throughput, very high IOPS and low power characteristics combined with the standards based programming power of iVivity's iDiSX 2000 HBA provides OEMs with an easily integrated, superior means of differentiating their iSCSI array and appliance systems -- improving application performance and functionality without changing their system architectures. "iVivity's new application programmable HBA offers storage systems manufacturers a remarkable value proposition and we expect that it will change the way storage systems are built and deployed," said Zulfiqar Qazilbash, Chief Strategy Officer of iVivity. "We are empowering our OEM customers with the ability to offload application agents, save CPU cycles and automate the delivery of products to end users. Our introduction of a new class of HBA will help OEMs increase functionality and performance for their end users while making it easier to install, manage and provide end user technical support." In a recent report, Gartner stated the market for 10 Gbps HBA ports will have a calculated annual growth rate of 122 percent through 2009. iVivity's latest offering is poised to take advantage of this high growth market.
