EditShare Chooses Chelsio 10Gb Ethernet Adapters
Chelsio Communications, a leader in 10-Gigabit and multi-port Gigabit Ethernet adapters with protocol offload technology, today announced that EditShare LLC, the pioneer of cross platform shared media storage solutions for collaborative video editing, has chosen Chelsio's 10Gb Ethernet adapters as a high-speed interface solution for its award-winning collaborative video editing system. The EditShare collaborative editing and shared media storage system allows all connected content creation workstations to create and access a common pool of media files, while guaranteeing that individual workstations never interfere with, damage, or erase media on other workstations on the network. "EditShare is currently using Chelsio's N210 10Gb Ethernet NIC and T210 10GbE TCP Offload Engine, and we are evaluating and qualifying Chelsio's iSCSI Target software," said Andy Liebman, founder and CEO of EditShare. "We are committed to bringing price-performance breakthroughs to the digital media marketplace, and after testing against other NIC offerings, we have found that the Chelsio technology delivers superior performance and offers the broadest suite of capabilities available for networking and storage interconnect." "After thorough testing and evaluation, our adapters were selected by EditShare to meet the high throughput requirements of this dynamic application," said Kianoosh Naghshineh, president and CEO of Chelsio. "Video editing is a demanding application that requires very high throughput and low latency, which can only be delivered by TCP offload technology."
