Cognos, the world leader in business intelligence (BI) and corporate performance management (CPM), today announced that Renee Lorton has joined the company as senior vice president and general manager, performance management applications. Ms. Lorton will be responsible for leadership of the company's Performance Management Applications business, which includes solutions for enterprise planning, financial management and corporate reporting, and performance analytics. Ms. Lorton joins Cognos with over 15 years of senior leadership experience in the enterprise software and performance management industries. Prior to joining Cognos, Ms. Lorton served as senior vice president and general manager at PeopleSoft, in which she led the company's Enterprise Performance Management, Financial Management Applications and Enterprise Service Automation business units. Earlier in her career, Ms. Lorton served as global chief information officer, financial advisory services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. "Renee is a proven leader in the performance management industry, with extensive experience and expertise growing enterprise software businesses," said Peter Griffiths, Cognos senior vice president, products.
