Indian Centers To Establish Grid Computing System

Pune, India based Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) Director General S Ramakrishnan today said the C-DAC would establish 'grid computing system' at 14 locations in 40 institutions during current year. Addressing the press at 93rd Indian Science Congress (ISC), Mr Ramkrishnan said the C-DAC was making all arrangments to set up the grid computing system which would help to aggregate all computers through high speed data and the clusters would be connected to the grid. He said the grid would find solutions to the problems faced by the end users. He said the grid computing system would also help to know the information of disaster management and bio-informatics to the users. Stating that the C DAC has released Hindi, Telugu and Tamil language software last year, he said Punjabi and Urdu language software would be released in two months. The remaining software of the other languages would be released during 2006-07 year.
