Implementation Cost for Oracle Daily BI is 33 to 80 Percent of the Cost for SAP

Oracle Daily Business Intelligence has a superior cost of ownership to SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW) in a number of areas, according to a recent comparative study by Edison Group, Inc., Oracle today announced. Oracle Daily Business Intelligence, the embedded management reporting system of the Oracle E-Business Suite, provides hundreds of pre-built Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reports that deliver accurate, timely and actionable information to decision makers across the enterprise. The Edison Group report found that Oracle Daily Business Intelligence implementations are more cost-effective than SAP BW across a number of key information technology (IT) factors, including hardware complexity, and ease of implementation and integration. Customers noted benefits of Oracle Daily Business Intelligence over SAP BW including: -- Less expensive to implement, between 33 and 80 percent of the cost, depending on the environment; and, -- Up to 50 percent faster to implement than SAP BW, including time to scope implementation and execute. Edison Group, a technology analysis and consulting firm, worked with independent industry consultants and vendor partner consultants to identify more than sixty Oracle and SAP customers of all sizes and industries for the survey. Customers were asked to detail their IT environment, business intelligence (BI) strategy and business processes. "Our report findings confirm that Oracle Daily Business Intelligence is a powerful BI solution that provides customers with an open technology framework for a successful BI strategy," said Edison Group CTO, Barry Cohen, "Customers can use Oracle Daily Business Intelligence as the foundation for tracking and measuring key business metrics and performance. Its native integration with Oracle E-Business Suite allows customers to implement it and achieve value quickly." According to companies surveyed, Oracle Daily Business Intelligence customers can benefit from a lower TCO because they do not have to buy, install and maintain a separate server to obtain management and operational reporting. Oracle customers also cited that implementing Oracle Daily Business Intelligence was accomplished in weeks up to a maximum of three months. Customers also noted the affordability to maintain and support Oracle Daily Business Intelligence using in-house talent. When external resources are required, they tend to be more affordable than their SAP counterpart. Furthering system manageability is Oracle Daily Business Intelligence's integration with Oracle Business Intelligence products, including Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer, an ad hoc analysis and reporting tool, Oracle Business Intelligence Warehouse Builder, and Oracle Balanced Scorecard, all which enable customers to access Oracle and non-Oracle data sources. "We provide the most compelling BI solution and value on the market," said Chris Leone, vice president of Strategy, Oracle. "In a marketplace where customers are always seeking greater value, Oracle is able to deliver a robust BI solution with a reliable implementation path and a predictable cost."
