MSC.Software Releases MSC.ADAMS 2005 r2
MSC.Software Corp. , the leading global provider of virtual product development (VPD) solutions including simulation software and services, today announced the release of MSC.ADAMS 2005 r2. MSC.ADAMS is part of the SimOffice integrated VPD environment and is the world's leading motion simulation product that allows engineers to simulate, understand and quantify the performance of mechanical systems before building expensive hardware prototypes and conducting physical tests. "Having worked with multi-body systems for over 20 years, I think the automated 3-D contacts capability has made MSC.ADAMS much more valuable to us. Now we can model realistic engineering high-precision joints where the dynamics of contacts and friction are very important and where clearances of 50 microns are traveled in microseconds," said Ashraf Zeid, technical fellow, system dynamics & controls, Visteon Corporation. MSC.ADAMS is a multi-body dynamics simulation solution that allows engineers to gain an in-depth understanding into the performance of their mechanical systems. Several significant enhancements aimed at increasing user productivity have been implemented in MSC.ADAMS 2005 r2 including: * Improved flexible system modeling plus further integration of MSC.ADAMS and MSC.Nastran for higher-fidelity durability simulations. * Common solver for multi-body, controls, and hydraulics applications. ADAMS/Solver (C++) now fully supports ADAMS/Linear and ADAMS/Vibration. By using a common solver engineering teams will find it much easier to integrate these systems into a complete virtual prototype. * Significantly faster contact simulation through parallel processing. Contacts are now supported by the Shared Memory Processing (SMP) module originally introduced in MSC.ADAMS 2005 r1. * ADAMS/SmartDriver, a new product that provides advanced driving simulation in ADAMS/Car and ADAMS/Chassis. * New technology added to ADAMS/Linear to provide higher fidelity linearization for rotating systems by accurately capturing centrifugal and gyroscopic effects. * New experimental capability for exporting validated MSC.ADAMS models to MSC.Nastran for detailed NVH analysis. To help MSC.Software customers get the most value from the significant enhancements made to MSC.ADAMS 2005 r2, MSC.Software is hosting a Webinar, highlighting "What's New in MSC.ADAMS 2005 r2." This public Webinar is available for viewing by visiting its Web site. MSC.ADAMS 2005 r2 is available directly from the MSC.Software sales team and through its worldwide network of resellers.
