RapidIO Trade Association Aids Design Teams By Streamlining Web Site
Making its debut this week, the newly designed Web site, is an essential tool for design teams embracing the established RapidIO fabric standard. For the first time, rapidio.org includes a full suite of ratified RapidIO specifications ensuring designers have the most current data needed to create solutions for next generation wireless infrastructure, edge networks, storage, high-end computing, military, scientific, and industrial applications. The RapidIO Trade Association is also engaging in various industry events to share information and demonstrations regarding RapidIO technology. "The demand among the engineering community for information on designing with RapidIO technology is stronger than ever," commented Iain Scott, executive director of the RapidIO Trade Association. "As products continue to permeate the market and the benefits of this technology are realized, the trade association is committed to enabling design teams, engineers, and managers across the globe by providing the information they need to speed designs to market." As the Year of RapidIO progresses, there has been a significant increase in site traffic to its Web site by visitors seeking information on specifications, applications, technology details and news. To facilitate these visitors and ensure their experience meets their needs, the RapidIO Trade Association and their web host KAVI, the leading provider of essential, software-powered services to standards organizations, designed a site that provides current information quickly and with universal accessibility. Significant changes start with the Home page, which is simpler to navigate making essential information easy to find. All content areas have been enhanced, providing even more information for design teams, such as the full suite of RapidIO specifications. In addition, a refurbished News Room provides easier access to the latest news from the RapidIO Trade Association and its members. The new Web site also features details about Fall 2005 events and special programs from the RapidIO Trade Association under a new 'Events' menu. Citing a significant increase in interest from attendees, event organizers have sought out the RapidIO Trade Association and its members as conference speakers and exhibitors. From the Network Systems Design Conference to the First Annual AdvancedTCA Summit, RapidIO technology will have a pervasive industry presence this Fall. * RapidIO at NSDC: The RapidIO Trade Association will be well represented at this year's Network Systems Design Conference 2005 to be held at Parkside Hall in San Jose, Calif., at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on October 18-20, 2005. The Trade Association will be providing more than three hours of substantive technology training on October 18, and RapidIO experts will be participating on various panels during the event. You can also visit the RapidIO booth (#205) to see a technology demonstration. * Freescale Technology Forums: As these forums bring the latest technology training and labs to Europe, the RapidIO Trade Association will be an active participant both the Paris event held at the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel October 11 and 12, and in Munich on October 18 and 19 at Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich. The programs will feature technical content on RapidIO, including technology demonstrations and breakout sessions. * GSPx: The RapidIO Trade Association, a supporting organization, will be participating in the educational forums and on the exhibit floor at GSPx 2005 to be held October 24 -27 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. * 3rd International System-on-Chip (SoC) Conference & Exhibit: Held November 1-2, 2005 at the Radisson Hotel Newport Beach, Calif., the 3rd International SoC Conference & Exhibit will provide insights into SoC issues and an opportunity to challenge the experts with design and application questions and learn about the future direction of System-on-Chip. * First Annual AdvancedTCA Summit: The RapidIO Trade Association has been invited to provide a keynote address at the First Annual AdvancedTCA Summit, to be held at the Wyndham Hotel December 6-8, 2005 in San Jose, Calif.
