Omneta PLC Selects Livo Technologies SA

Livo Technologies SA and Omneta Plc, who are both demonstrating some of their innovative technologies and services on the ‘Solution Center – Development & Innovation’ pavilion of Apple Expo, announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deliver the most secure, resilient and scaleable supercomputer authentication service. “Today, whether they are organizations or individuals, network computing users require new protection against ID theft and ID impersonation that lead to unauthorized access,” indicated Steven Windmill, CEO of Omneta Plc. “Embedding Livo Technologies’ unique authentication system into our Apple Xserve servers will enable Omneta’s customers to securely access Omneta’s phenomenal power from their computer desktop in the most convenient, cost-efficient and effective manner”. Omneta’s supercomputer services, which will be tested this year in several secret, ultra secure, bombproof centres, will benefit from Interoute’s extensive European network, 150 PoPs in 72 European Cities. “We designed our authentication method and system to leverage large scale network computing user populations’ capabilities to securely access and process professional and personal data at anytime, anywhere, without changing their user habits nor their communication interfaces,” said Jean-Michel Livowsky, CEO of Livo Technologies SA. Livo Technologies’ authentication system characterizes itself by authenticating network terminal users with a multi-factor, resilient and non-breakable authentication process. As a result of the enrollment of multiple user identity factors, such as a password, a PIN code, a serial number, a fingerprint, etc. the Livo Technology authentication method enables the creation of a single, federated, resilient and evolutionary authentication number, unique to each enrolled user. To authenticate themselves – using one or more of their existing personal security devices, such as a smart card, a USB dongle, a GSM phone, an iPod, a PDA as well as other forms of fixed or mobile computing terminals -- Livo Technologies users do not change their authentication procedure while totally assuring themselves against ID theft, ID impersonation and other risks of frauds that could result from ID theft. Targeted users who will benefit from the Omneta supercomputer infrastructure are commercial and non commercial organizations that require global, secured and seamless access to large networking, processing and data storage capabilities. Examples of users include financial and banking institutions, pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies, research centers and universities as well as governmental bodies.
