Hope College to Launch Supercomputer

The most powerful supercomputer in West Michigan will soon call Hope College in Holland home. The college received the new supercomputing cluster through a $379,609 grant from the National Science Foundation. Hope, one of four colleges that will share the equipment used for research, will house and maintain it. The supercomputing cluster is several hundred times more powerful than an ordinary desktop computer, allowing students to solve equations they couldn't do before. It will be operational early next year.
