Team to Support Network for the U.S. Air Force

Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that it has been selected as part of a Northrop Grumman-led team to provide full-service communications and information technology (IT) support to the U.S. Air Force's Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) program. CSC estimates the value of its portion of the multi-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which has three base years and two one-year options, to be approximately $50 million if all options are exercised. Under the agreement, the team will provide operations and maintenance support to NETCENTS. Specific tasks will include telecommunications services; network engineering; systems installation and integration; and software development and maintenance. "The NETCENTS contract will streamline IT ordering, delivery and support activities at U.S. Air Force locations throughout the world," said Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's Federal Sector business unit. "By leveraging our extensive commercial and government work around the globe, CSC can support activities specific to a single installation as well as large-scale geographical and organization IT implementations." CSC's Aerospace organization will support the NETCENTS program out of its Colorado Springs, Colo., office. Specific work will depend on individual task order requirements, but the company expects to have lead roles in network systems engineering and consolidation of enterprise outsourcing, IT systems and services. The Northrop Grumman NETCENTS team includes 10 large and 24 small business organizations. Besides CSC, Northrop Grumman's large team members include: SAIC, San Diego, Calif.; BearingPoint Inc. and RS Information Systems Inc., McLean, Va.; Siemens AG, Munich, Germany; T-Systems, Frankfurt, Germany; Verizon Communications and AT&T, New York, N.Y.; Dell Inc., Round Rock, Texas; and SI International Inc., Reston, Va.
