Metapa Secures $8 Million in Venture Funding

Metapa Inc., a leading database software company for high-performance data warehousing, today announced the successful completion of $8 million in venture funding. Led by Mission Ventures, EDF Ventures and Dawntreader Ventures, Metapa will use the funding for further expansion of the growing software business. "The high-performance data warehousing market is experiencing remarkable growth and we believe Metapa has the people and technology to succeed in this marketplace," said Leo Spiegel, General Partner of Mission Ventures. "We are very pleased to receive this tremendous level of financial support from Mission Ventures, EDF Ventures, and our existing investors," said Scott Yara, President and Founder of Metapa. "This funding is a testament to our company, our people and our breakthrough software product, Metapa Cluster DataBase (CDB)." Beau D. Laskey, general partner of EDF Ventures said, "We focus on investing in companies with groundbreaking technology and first-class people and Metapa has both. We are very pleased to provide Metapa with financial support along with the other investors." "We are delighted to have such great new investors on board," said Edward Sim, Managing Director, Dawntreader Ventures. "Metapa is successfully pioneering high-performance data warehousing and we are happy to be involved in this outstanding opportunity." The funding will be used to bolster development of Metapa CDB and further expand sales and marketing.
