IBM’s Largest U.S. Business Partner Taps TurboWorx

TurboWorx, Inc., announced it has developed a teaming agreement with Mainline Information Systems, IBM’s largest U.S. solutions provider. Together, Mainline and TurboWorx will deliver solutions for creating, managing and accelerating compute and data intensive applications and workflows found in complex server environments and grids. The TurboWorx product family, built on an open-development framework and powered by TurboWorx's SmartGrid™ technology, includes TurboWorx Builder, TurboWorx Enterprise, and TurboWorx ClusterManager. Together, these products support application integration and acceleration, workflow creation, uniform data access, and comprehensive user and resource management functionality that spans both grids and clusters. Mainline Information Systems supports its customers’ business initiatives by providing them with the finest in IBM technology in which to run their critical business applications. It is imperative that these applications reside on resilient, scaleable and secure platforms. To that end, Mainline is dedicated to working with key Independent Software Vendors, such as TurboWorx, to optimize their applications with the entire line of IBM’s eServers and storage products. TurboWorx software solutions describe, distribute and solve the most complex, time sensitive problems in any computing environment. The TurboWorx intuitive interface allows researchers, analysts, and other business professionals to describe compute-intense business processes in their own industry terms. The software then converts and distributes the application workload across the enterprise. These solutions are fundamentally different from the more traditional “transactional workflows” that are often used to automate simple “assembly line” tasks such as document management and order processing. They provide a competitive advantage by removing the repetitive cut-and-paste-and-wait cycles, and thus enabling companies to automate manually intense application workloads into simple “computational workflows.” “TurboWorx is uniquely positioned to provide a flexible solution for distributing complex applications in grid and cluster computing environments. These solutions represent a true source of value creation in the life sciences, financial services, process manufacturing, automotive, energy exploration and production, aerospace, and information-based medicine markets,” said Jeff Augen, President and CEO, TurboWorx, Inc. “Partnering with firms such as Mainline is a cornerstone to our long-term growth plan. Mainline offices throughout the United States, Asia Pacific and Latin America, provide TurboWorx with a high-profile company that gives us reach into a much broader market,” Augen added. “Mainline partners with leading companies such as TurboWorx to deliver cutting edge solutions that are built on top of rock solid IBM infrastructure. In this way we provide a valuable service to our customers in support of their business needs. We are thrilled to be working with TurboWorx and look forward to many successful endeavors in the coming year,” said Jimmy Lee, Practice Director, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Mainline Information Systems.
